I've been invited to have a food tasting at Fresca which serving Mexican cuisine at The Garden Mall in Kuala Lumpur. Since the opened the restaurant, hundreds of thousand of Malaysians and expatriate families living there have been able to enjoy first hand the unique and wide-ranging flavours of Mexican cuisine.

The kitchen offers universally-loved Tex-Mex favourites such as fajitas, quesadillas and burritos as well as the more traditional Mexican dishes including a variety of Tacos, Ceviches (raw fishs cured in fresh lime), Molotes (Mexican empanadas like curry puff) and Carne Asada (steak).

There is emphasis on quality of food and only the freshest ingredients are used. Fresca's salsas are made fres daily (pico de gallo, guacamole, chile con queso, chile con carne) and its corn tortillas are made from scratch and hand-pressed the traditional way using cast iron presses.

They are using authentic flavours - impoted mexican chillis such as ancho, pasilla, poblano, guajillo, chipotle and jalapeno.

The menu of the day. It looks so fantastic. Great food and good services. You can take a look at the images of foods that I snapped below. My Favourite: Chips with Pico de Gallo & Guacamole, also, Pollo a la Parilla which is a grilled chicken fillet on a sizzling plate served with Mexican green rice omg so perfect!

The Price Range:

  1. Chips with Pico de Gallo - RM16 & Guacamole - RM23
  2. Pollo a la Parrilla (Grilled chicken fillet + Green rice) - RM36
  3. Churros con Chocolat y Cajeta (Chocolate dip + Goat's milk Caramel) - RM18
  4. Taco Ensenada (Mexican salsa or so called nachos) - RM24
  5. Agua Fresca (Non-alcoholic coolers: Lime, Hibiscus, Tamarind) - RM9.20

Mexican Cooking Demo

All the guest-bloggers were treated to a special one-off cooking demo by Chef BB. Hosted by co-founder of Fresca, Meng Lim, participants learnt more about Mexico's rich cuisine and culture.

We were learning how to made tacos. Chef BB showed the guests how we make our corn tortillas from scratch and shape them using a traditional cast iron press. These corn tortillas are a staple food in Mexico and used to make Tacos, Enchiladas, Burritos, Fajitas. Ok I still remember the ingredient to make tacos which include corn flour + salt + warm water. And then fry it on a pan without cooking oil. How easy!

I got selfie of the day also during the event ok haha

Helipad tu apa? Helipad tu suatu area landasan pendaratan untuk helikopter! Tapi dalam entry ini, aku nak perkenalkan sikit tentang helipad dekat Heli Lounge Bar KL. So tempat inilah yang best kalau korang mahu menikmati pemandangan Kuala Lumpur. An unbroken view of the whole city of Kuala Lumpur! This is it, the Heli Lounge Bar.

Lokasi:

Tingkat 34, Menara KH, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur.

Cara nak pergi ke Heli Lounge Bar

Aku pergi sana naik public transport sebab lebih mudah dan aku sendiri taktahu nak parking dekat mana. So aku recommend kalau nak pergi sana ambil monorail ke Jalan Bukit Raja Chulan. Tapi lif dia bergerak laju, tak lambat pun.

Cara untuk masuk

Bersyarat. Nak naik ke atas helipad tu bukannya datang lenggang-lenggang terus boleh naik, tak, korang perlu beli minuman terlebih dahulu dekat bar dia. Ok aku lupa sangat nak ambil gambar menu dia. Agak mahal, bak kata kawan, starbucks lagi murah hahahha. Aku order air Fruit Punch dengan Cranberries. Harga air paling murah RM28 tapi kawan aku bayar pakai card, harga dia jadi RM25. Jadi total untuk dua minuman ialah RM50. Pergi sekali untuk menikmati view.

Waktu yang disarankan

Waktu yang aku syorkan untuk pergi dalam pukul 5pm - 7pm, dalam linkungan matahari nak terbenam gitu, baru cantik ambil gambar kalau malam-malam nak ambil gambar pun gelap tak nampak muka, hanya dapat melihat lampu-lampu bangunan je, romantik sangat wakakka. Macam mana kalau pergi selepas pukul 7pm? Okay masa aku pergi, dalam pukul 6 petang, aku agak lambat sebab aku ada event lain sepatutnya nak pergi pukul 5. Selepas melepak di helipad, aku balik waktu maghrib, pukul 7.30pm je aku keluar, dah panjang gila beratur weh. Waktu aku masuk pukul 6pm elok je smooth. I don't need to queue.

Komen

Disebabkan helipad ni dah sungguh terkenal, tempat dia pulak takde lah besar sangat jadi, memang sangat padat! Crowded weh. Balik pun sebab hujan haha. So try it for once in your life.

“Nothing is permanently perfect. But there are perfect moments and the will to choose what will bring about more perfect moments. Don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect.” ― Mary Balogh,

Info Mengenai AHB

Hey guys! Have a great weekend. Last week I went to VR Lab at Sunway to play VR Games. But first, let me introduce you what is VR gaming. VR stands for Virtual Reality where a person can experience being in a three-dimensional environment and interact with that environment during a game. This is an essential part of the game. This type of interaction is seen in virtual worlds such as Second Life which allows you to socialize with others in a 3D environment. It feels like you are in the video game.

With VR technology, you can bridge the gap between gaming and reality. Whether you're stepping into your favourite game, watching an immersive VR movie, jumping to a destination on the other side of the world, or just spending time with friends in VR, you'll feel like you're really there! Explore a world of gaming like never before, and discover a universe of possibilities.

My Favourite: I absolutely love when I played a game like attacking zombies, you don't know how I feel like being in the world of zombies, it reminds me to The Walking Dead series ahaa. Ok I admit that the first game I played which was shooting zombies, I was acting cool like "Ahh.. it just a game come on I won't get scared, it is just a.... game." Ok I was doing fine for the first game due to the number of zombies appeared on the game were small, but then I played another game which is attacking zombies too, trust me, there's a lot of zombies (in the game) that I could not handle, I also blamed the controller (when I actually get nerve-wrecking using the controller). I screamed a lot during the game!

The facilities in the VR Lab includes Mixed Reality Green Room, as you can see on the picture above there's a green room which your friends can see you on TV hahahha. Besides, there are Twin VR room, Single VIP room and Single VR Stations. Oh let's not forget in case if you get hungry or thirsty due to playing game so hard, there's a drinks & snacks counter. You may order heavy meal also.

As 2017 enters its second month, those in business cannot help but lament about how the year would be a challenging one for business survival. The clothing industry is said to be among the sectors affected. Competition is stiff, with new brands flooding the market following ease of access to raw materials from China and Vietnam. To survive, many major players have diverged into other industries such as food and cosmetics. Some though, have decided to look deeper within the clothing industry to see where the money was really at, and found it to be in modest fashion. According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2015-2016, Muslim consumers spend about USD230 billion a year on clothes and the figure is expected to increase to USD327 billion by 2019. Therefore it is little wonder that designer brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, H&M, Uniqlo, DKNY, Oscar de la Renta, Tommy Hilfiger and Mango are jumping onto the bandwagon to cater to modest fashion enthusiasts and giving existing brands a run for their money.

LACK OF KNOWLEDGE

In Malaysia, modest clothing and fashion has become a rather lucrative industry, with many new players coming onboard every year. However, the founder of GM Ideology business training centre, Major (Rtd) Mohd Ameir Rydhuan believed that 90 percent of local modest clothing brand owners started their business on the wrong foot and ended up having to close shop. Local clothing brands have blossomed over the past five years and today there are so many boutiques and mega sales events dedicated to these brands. Unfortunately, the knowledge these brand owners have is not in line with the speed at which the industry is developing, said Ameir. To date, he has conducted 200 training sessions for 50 local brands throughout 2016 and during that time he learnt the mistakes committed by many of the brand owners. He, however, did not buy into the hype of 2017 being a challenging year for the local modest fashion industry. Even if that was the case, he believed that local clothing labels could pull through if they treaded carefully. The real challenge is when these brands fail to offer something different or unique to the market. Because of this, they have to compete amongst themselves for the same customers it is a big industry, he pointed out. Ameir said this after the Fashion Startup: Persiapan Projek Raya 2017 programme organised by Magma Solutions Sdn Bhd (Magma) in Putrajaya held on Jan 14 and 15.

TWO MAJOR MISTAKES

According to Ameir, the two biggest mistakes that local fashion entrepreneurs tended to make were poor customer service and spending too much time seeking out new customers. Each customer that has bought our brand has a high potential of repeating the purchase. Failure to take care of them will result in a missed sale which will then be grabbed by others. At the same time, sellers are so occupied with obtaining new customers that they forget about existing ones. They don't realise that the cost of getting a new customer is the same as taking care of the ones they already have, said Ameir who had formerly served the Royal Malaysian Air Force. He added that entrepreneurs today loved to fuss over the details but tended to forget the basics. This was made evident during the courses he conducted as business owners came to the stunning realisation that they had ignored the most important things, despite their years in the business.

THE RAYA PROJECT

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri just four months away, fashion entrepreneurs need to already have a plan to maximise on sales during the festive season. Raya is the most important day of the year for many of our customers. So the question would be: will customers choose our brand to wear on their important day? Last year we saw many of our friends businesses fold and subjected to controversy - all because they failed to plan. Magma hopes this will not happen again to any of our participants, said Azrul Izzam Kamarul Zaman who is Magma Chief of Experience (COE). Meanwhile, its Chief Executive Officer Puteri Maizura Razali said a company's sales performance during the Hari Raya festive season was an indicator of the business health. During this time, demand is three times more than usual, so it is a good time to gauge your product s relevance in the market, she explained.

KNOWLEDGE AS PREPARATION

Siti Alia Izaaty Mohd Ramlel, the owner of Bonafide Scarf is one of those unfortunate entrepreneurs that suffered massive losses due to lack of research and planning. In 2016 she made the mistake of making a six-digit investment in a product that was not validated for marketability. The product did not take off and ended up becoming dead inventory. She hoped that with the knowledge gained from the workshop, the situation will not recur. For the founder of the Benang Hijau boutique, Fadzilah Mamat, 36, having 12 boutiques in seven states meant she needed to constantly update her business knowledge. She believed that the Fashion Startup workshop has helped answer many of the pressing questions at the back of her mind all these while. Sales had dropped at the end of 2016 so I think it is time to change strategies. I have always wondered what a reasonable amount to spend on marketing is and what is considered a healthy return of investment. I got my answers here, she said. Two other fashion entrepreneurs, Rubina Ameen Mughal, 37, who is the owner of Imaan Boutique, and Fazrena Abdul Aziz, the founder of TudungPeople, both agreed that the knowledge shared by Ameir was practical and made them more fastidious when making decision. Meanwhile, Mohd Muaz Mohamed Nyan, whose business Audrabella Wardrobe started in 2014, said he did not mind coming all the way to Kuala Lumpur for the workshop as there was none like it in his site in Johor Bahru.

"Do you eat to live or live to eat?" This is a phrase that has been discussed time an again. Most will say they eat to live, but there also those who live to eat. Some will start thinking what to eat for breakfast as soon as they wake up,after breakfast they ponder on what to have for lunch, then what's for tea, dinner and after that what's for supper before calling it a day. Among Malaysians over eating often happens during the early month when the wallet is full where they can afford sumptuous meals, dine at fine restaurants and hotels. The problem is compounded further when homes are located nearby eateries that operate up to late night. So the temptation to eat is always there beyond the regular meals.

FOOD AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

When looking for something tasty to savour, don't have to go far, just ask the colleague or friends who will further tempt you with a list of offerings - nasi lemak, rojak, mee mamak, laksa penang, cendol, roti canai and the list goes on. Handheld communication gadgets had made it easier to access food, just Google to see where is the nearest place to savour what you feel like eating! As there are 24-hour eateries mushrooming everywhere, you can Google to eat anywhere anytime. Those who live to eat will go the extra mile just to eat what they want. Time and location are no barriers.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN EATING

There is nothing wrong in eating, but one should only consume the required amount and at the appropriate intervals. Say for example the nasi lemak, it is a delicacy that most Malaysians cannot do without. I tried to Google to look for tasty nasi lemak in Kuala Lumpur, it's not surprising to see numerous places cropping up. For me I consider the nasi lemak being a wholesome serving that is suitable and a healthy breakfast offering, but one needs to take note of the serving size. A dietician once shared tips with the writer regarding nasi lemak and others relating to proper food intake and health. It was recommended that it is better to buy a small pack of nasi lemak rather than buying a whole plate added with numerous accompanying dishes like sambal sotong, rendang or even fried egg. One may have realised that in the race to draw customers, eateries have been offering numerous accompanying dishes that in fact has changed the nasi lemak into nasi campur. All the additional dishes add up to the unwanted calories. The dietician reminded me that a small pack of nasi lemak has 200 calories compared with a plate of nasi lemak with the side dishes that can push up the calorie count to between 800 and 1,000! The same goes to those who love mee or fried rice, it is better to buy a small serving without the additional accompaniments!

TAKE NOTE OF YOUR EATING HABITS

No matter what you do, make sure you know what you are putting in your mouth. The Muslims in particular should not forget the words of the Prophet, "the stomach is the source of all health woes." Don't wait until you are down with health problems and only then start taking stock of what you have been eating and drinking. Remember many of the health problems are attributed to poor eating habits. Not only over eating, eating during late hours too is not good for health. When even the machines in factories have their operating limits, why let your digestive system overwork by eating late in the night. Why not give your digestive system a good rest! I was told by a friend that it is very difficult to find food after 11 p.m. in major cities in Australia and even in India because the people there eat according to time and avoid eating in between. There was a proposal at one time to cap the operation hours of these 24 hour restaurants, but was vehemently opposed. Recently an English daily highlighted the deadly eating habits of Malaysians, that include gluttony and eating during the late hours of the night. However, at the end of the day it is up to the individuals to eat in a disciplined manner or follow their desires.

CHRONIC DISEASE

Don't just add to the obesity or other chronic disease statistics due to poor dietary habits. Malaysians have earned the unenviable reputation for being the most obese in the region. The National Health Morbidity Survey conducted in 2011 found that 15.1 percent of Malaysians below the age of 18 are considered obese compared with 14 percent in 2006. And this figure could only increase if the youngsters of today are not inculcated with good eating habits right from the start. For the record 11 October 2015 is the World Obesity Day. The World Health Organisation's (WHO) statistics indicated that the number of children below five years who are considered obese increased from 32 million in 1990 to 42 million in 2013. If this figure increases, WHO estimates there will be 70 million obese children by 2025. Health experts have many time over come up with statements that many of the chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes, kidneys, heart and stroke are contributed by obesity, which in turn is caused by poor eating habits. Now think again when you eat beyond your regular meals?

Hari ini anak dara nak ajar cara yang simple untuk masak ayam cheese buttermilk hehe, masak sambil tangkap gambar for blogging okay. Let's do it!

Aku tak sarankan sangat bawang merah ni, aku suka bawang putih aka garlic gitu.

Okay gambar-gambar ni aku dah gabungkan menjadi satu gambar so mudah untuk korang rujuk. Langkah pertama patut goreng ayam dulu.

Okay ni part yang paling best, rujuk gambar 5, selepas tumis, bubuh susu satu cawan kecil lepastu gaulkan sampai dia berbuih, baru letak sekeping keju. Dah siap! Boleh hidangkan.

Beginilah cara mudah anak dara memasak wakaka. Benda paling bongok sekali aku rasa bila dah hidang lauk ni, terlupa nak masak nasi. Kbye~

1) Black is sexy
I mean not just black jelah tapi baju yang berwarna gelap tu boleh bagi effect kurus tau. Ya. Tepat sekali. Namun, jangan menghadkan diri korang untuk memakai pakaian berwarna hitam sahaja. Sebaliknya cuba warna-warna gelap yang lain seperti ungu gelap, merah hati atau biru gelap.

2) Pilih fabrik material chiffon bukan spandex

3) Cetakan berjalur menegak bukan melintang

Jangan lupa denim pun perlu berwarna gelap ya!
Entah la tapi kalau ikutkan aku, bagi yang berpunggung besar seeloknya pakai lah kain barulah nampak ayu sikit haha. Kalau nak pakai skirt pun biarlah skirt berwarna gelap juga.
It was a sunny day I went out with my cousins, so we had a meal at Monsta Cafe. My cousin said dia pernah makan dekat sini so let's try.

The view outside of the cafe is super nice.

The view in the cafe, boleh makan dekat dalam (air conditioner) dan juga lepak santai dekat luar (terlupa nak ambil gambar dekat luar) dekat luar ada sofa.

Deep Fried Chicken Wings, Strawberry Milkshake and Caramel Latte. I like the hot beverage, Latte dia taste so good pahit pahit sedap bukan pahit kelat.

I ordered Chicken Teriyaki Fried Rice with Strawberry Milkshake. The milkshake tasted so refreshing while the fried rice, I actually could not finished it sebab banyak sangat satu pinggan besar. Yeah the fried rice nice lah tapi aku rasa sepupu aku punya seafood fried rice lagi sedap haha.
