A Mexican Culinary Adventure at Fresca Mexican Kitchen & Bar
I've been invited to have a food tasting at Fresca which serving Mexican cuisine at The Garden Mall in Kuala Lumpur. Since the opened the restaurant, hundreds of thousand of Malaysians and expatriate families living there have been able to enjoy first hand the unique and wide-ranging flavours of Mexican cuisine.
The kitchen offers universally-loved Tex-Mex favourites such as fajitas, quesadillas and burritos as well as the more traditional Mexican dishes including a variety of Tacos, Ceviches (raw fishs cured in fresh lime), Molotes (Mexican empanadas like curry puff) and Carne Asada (steak).
There is emphasis on quality of food and only the freshest ingredients are used. Fresca's salsas are made fres daily (pico de gallo, guacamole, chile con queso, chile con carne) and its corn tortillas are made from scratch and hand-pressed the traditional way using cast iron presses.
They are using authentic flavours - impoted mexican chillis such as ancho, pasilla, poblano, guajillo, chipotle and jalapeno.

My Favourite: Chips with Pico de Gallo & Guacamole, also, Pollo a la Parilla which is a grilled chicken fillet on a sizzling plate served with Mexican green rice omg so perfect!

Mexican Cooking Demo
All the guest-bloggers were treated to a special one-off cooking demo by Chef BB. Hosted by co-founder of Fresca, Meng Lim, participants learnt more about Mexico's rich cuisine and culture.
We were learning how to made tacos. Chef BB showed the guests how we make our corn tortillas from scratch and shape them using a traditional cast iron press. These corn tortillas are a staple food in Mexico and used to make Tacos, Enchiladas, Burritos, Fajitas. Ok I still remember the ingredient to make tacos which include corn flour + salt + warm water. And then fry it on a pan without cooking oil. How easy!
